The 2023 Cricket World Cup was another landmark for India, as it hosted the tournament alone for the first time. This was the 13th edition of the series, and it was special not only due to India's sole hosting but also due to the high expectations from the tournament. The tournament featured a total of 10 teams while Australia won the final defeating India by 6 wickets.
South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia will co-host the 2027 Cricket World Cup. It will be the first World Cup with 14 teams, expanding from the current 10-team format.
