Who Won Yesterday's IPL 2025 Match? The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Gujarat Titans (GT) by 33 runs in a hotly contested IPL 2025 match, this match bringing up a strong all-around display led by a blistering century from Mitchell Marsh. Location: Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.
The LSG innings began with Mitchell Marsh scoring an incredible 117 off 64 balls, showcasing his aggressive batting style. Gujarat Titans received early knocks as Jos Buttler, Sai Sudharsan, and Shubman Gill were dismissed easily against LSG while chasing a high mark of 236 runs. However, Shahrukh Khan and Rutherford brought life back into the chase with aggressive stroke play that lifted the team past 200.
For GT supporters, Shahrukh's innings was particularly encouraging because he demonstrated the strength of their middle order players before the next rounds. His 40+ blitz, which is full of strong boundaries and unafraid performance, will undoubtedly alleviate concerns about GT's ability to finish anytype of match.
Despite being a bowler short due to Akash Madhwal's early injury, LSG's attack held its nerve. Will O'Rourke returned to claim key wickets, including Rutherford and Tewatia, at critical moments. Meanwhile, Avesh Khan's penultimate over effectively sealed the match, choking GT's chances with accurate slower deliveries.
Shubman Gill, reflecting on the loss, admitted they "gave 15-20 runs too many" and failed to sustain pressure after a promising power play. He, however, lauded the fightback from Shahrukh and Rutherford.
Mitchell Marsh, named Player of the Match, described the innings as "special" and praised the support from his teammates. "It's been a while coming. Opening gave me the freedom I needed," Marsh said.
This win marks LSG's third straight win over GT, ending their head-to-head dominance. LSG has demonstrated perseverance and the ability to surprise even top teams, despite being removed from championship contention.
However, GT still has one league match left against CSK. Both team will try to regrow and pick up momentum in their last game as they try to qualify for the next round.
