The third season of Major League Cricket (MLC) is begun in the United States, with a new format and an exciting schedule for cricket fans worldwide. The tournament began on June 13 and features a double round-robin league stage followed by playoffs.
A total of six franchises are competing in MLC 2025:
Washington Freedom (Captain: Steve Smith)
San Francisco Unicorns (Captain: Corey Anderson)
MI New York (Captain: Kieron Pollard)
Texas Super Kings (Captain: Faf du Plessis)
Los Angeles Knight Riders (Captain: Sunil Narine)
Seattle Orcas (Captain: David Warner)
Unlike previous editions, each team will now play 10 league matches — facing every other side twice. The top four will move into the playoffs, which include a Qualifier, Eliminator, Challenger, and the Final.
The matches are being held across three main venues:
Oakland Coliseum, California – hosted the first nine matches
Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas – will host the mid-season and playoff fixtures
Central Broward Regional Park, Lauderhill (Florida) – will stage the final leg of league matches
The tournament started with San Francisco Unicorns vs Washington Freedom on June 13 in California, and will conclude with the grand final scheduled on July 14 in Dallas.

The race for playoff positions is intensifying, with games set until early July. The Eliminator and Challenger will take place on July 14th, 2025, in Grand Prairie Stadium, after the Qualifier (1st vs. 2nd) on July 9th.
